Raheny Camera Club was established in July 2014 with the aim of further progressing the photography skills of its members. By actively participating in our programme of events we endeavour to enhance our ability through practical experience.

At Raheny Camera Club we believe:

• While the camera, the lens and techniques used are important, the image is made with the heart, the mind and the eye. A combination of all of these will produce an image that has impact and remains with the observer long after the initial viewing. 

• Experience is the only way to hone your skills and to do that you must practice.

• Raheny Camera Club is not a course in photography. It is a place to meet like-minded photographers who will nurture your love of photography and help you to improve your skills.

• Participation is key. Please get involved.

• Our varied range of outings, competitions and discussions should offer our members a chance to gain exposure to all areas of photography. This should encourage you to broaden your skills and try new aspects of photography .

• That you will learn more if you engage with your fellow photographers.

• We have an eclectic group of people in the club and it is our aim to bring our members together to talk about all aspects of photography, meet new people, and share knowledge. We believe members can gain as much benefit from the social side of the club as through the program itself.

• That it is important to have a yearly calendar that caters for all members’ needs. We will endeavour to fulfil this promise as much as possible and will try to accommodate members requests should they arise.
